Are you Brokenhearted?
I invite you to pause and ponder this profound promise from Psalm 34.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” - Psalm 34:18
God draws especially near to those who are hurting. The Creator of the universe chooses to be “close to the brokenhearted.” He is not a distant deity who observes our pain from afar but a loving Father who draws near in our moments of deepest need. Our God’s first instinct is to come close when we are hurting.
Are you brokenhearted, “crushed in spirit,” overwhelmed, stressed, and lonely? Know this: God is not distant in these moments of fragility. He is nearest when we feel most broken.
Remember that your brokenness is not a barrier to God’s presence but an invitation for His closeness. Let this promise of Psalm 34:18 free you from the pressure to “have it all together.” When you cannot hold it all together, God holds you together in Christ.
You are never alone in your pain. The One who knows every corner of our city knows every corner of your heart, and He is very near indeed.
